Acceptable Use Policy
This policy sets out what HostDex services may and may not be used for. It applies to every HostDex customer.
Draft pending legal review
These terms are a working draft published for transparency while HostDex is in development. They are pending professional legal review and may change before services become generally available. They do not constitute a claim of any licence, certification or regulatory approval.
Prohibited activity
- Unlawful activity of any kind under applicable law.
- Unsolicited bulk email, and any activity supporting it.
- Phishing, fraud, malware distribution or command-and-control infrastructure.
- Unauthorised scanning, intrusion attempts or denial-of-service activity against any system.
- Infringement of intellectual property rights.
- Distribution of child sexual abuse material, which is reported to the relevant authorities without exception.
- Cryptocurrency mining, except where expressly agreed in writing for a specific service.
- Any activity that places a service’s network or host at risk of being blocklisted.
How we respond
- We investigate reports of abuse and may ask you for information.
- We may suspend a service immediately where there is serious or ongoing harm.
- For less severe matters we will normally give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
- We tell you the reason for any suspension and how to respond.
Appeals
If you believe a suspension was made in error, contact us and we will review it. We will explain the outcome.
