Abuse & Security

HostDex takes abuse and security reports seriously. This page explains how to report an issue and what happens next.

Draft pending legal review

These terms are a working draft published for transparency while HostDex is in development. They are pending professional legal review and may change before services become generally available. They do not constitute a claim of any licence, certification or regulatory approval.

Reporting abuse

If a HostDex service is being used for spam, phishing, malware, scanning, denial-of-service activity or anything else prohibited by our Acceptable Use Policy, please report it. Include as much detail as you can: IP address, timestamps with time zone, log extracts and a description of what you observed.

What happens next

  • We acknowledge reports and investigate them.
  • Where there is serious or ongoing harm, we may suspend the service immediately.
  • We do not disclose customer identity to a reporter, but we will confirm that a report has been actioned.

Reporting a security vulnerability

If you believe you have found a vulnerability in HostDex systems, please report it privately and give us a reasonable opportunity to fix it before disclosing it publicly. We will acknowledge your report and keep you informed.

Please do not access, modify or delete data that is not yours, degrade our services, or use an issue to gain further access while testing.

Law enforcement and regulatory requests

We respond to lawful requests from competent authorities. Requests should be sent to our abuse contact and should identify the legal basis for the request.
